Bob Baldwin

Bob Baldwin is one of the most influential songwriter/producers of our time. A keyboardist, composer and innovator, he has trademarked "NewUrbanJazz", a mix of old school soul, modern funk, traditional and smooth jazz and world rhythms.

His constantly evolving musical world began in his childhood home of Mount Vernon, New York, where his father was an accomplished jazz pianist and upright bassist who worked with the bassists for Ella Fitgerald and John Coltrane. Baldwin attended his dad's jam sessions around the country and studied the local stars of Westchester.

Bob began playing piano at age four, and was influenced by a rich array of artists: Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, The Stylistics, Delfonics, Spinners and others of the era. Baldwin considers the music a precious part of his childhood.

In 1986 he formed the Bob Baldwin/Al Orlo Project in New Rochelle, NY, performing at the legendary Bottom Line in New York City. He began a series of successful album productions: "Rejoice", "Reflections of Love", "Never Out of Season" and "Twenty".

Baldwin wrote a guide book for independent artists: "You Better Ask Somebody", based on his 30 years in the music industry.

His new release, "Twenty" celebrates his twentieth album, with
music remakes of Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon" and "Butterfly" plus ten new compositions.
